How Digital PA uses cookies and similar storage
This notice explains the cookies, local storage, and session storage Digital PA currently uses, why they are needed, and how Aurora Bright Steps approaches cookie compliance.
Current approach
Digital PA currently uses functional and strictly necessary cookies or similar storage technologies to run the service, keep accounts secure, and remember interface preferences. Aurora Bright Steps does not currently use the public app for advertising cookies or optional analytics cookies.
What we use
- Session cookies: to keep signed-in users authenticated and maintain secure account access.
- CSRF protection cookies: to help prevent malicious cross-site request attacks.
- Theme preference cookies and local storage:to remember the user's chosen appearance settings.
- Session storage: to support interface behavior such as restoring scroll position within the app.
- Cloudflare Turnstile verification: to protect the support form against spam and automated abuse.
Why we use them
These technologies are used so the app can sign users in securely, protect forms, remember visual settings, and deliver a functioning product experience. Without them, major parts of the app would not work properly.
Consent position
Because the current cookies and storage technologies are used for security and core functionality, Aurora Bright Steps treats them as strictly necessary or functionally essential. If optional analytics, marketing, or other non-essential cookies are introduced later, the app should move to a consent-based approach where the law requires it.
Managing cookies and storage
Browser settings can usually be used to clear cookies, local storage, or session storage. Please note that doing so may sign you out of Digital PA or reset saved preferences.
